For our Investment Bank Technology division in London, we are looking to hire a:

Vulnerability Management Manager

Your role in the team:

We are seeking an experienced a Vulnerability Management Manager, this role will be responsible for leading and coordinating the identification, assessment, and mitigation of security vulnerabilities across the Berenberg organisation. The Vulnerability Management Manager will ensure that the organisation's systems, applications, and network infrastructures are protected from threats and vulnerabilities. This position demands a proactive, energetic, and enthusiastic individual with extensive security and vulnerability management exposure and experience within the financial services industry.

The role will include managing and coordinate penetration testing efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure thorough testing and remediation processes. This involves liaising with IT, development, and security teams to integrate findings into actionable security measures enhancing our overall security posture. The role will entail working closely with various departments, including IT, development, and risk management, to integrate vulnerability management processes seamlessly into the broader security strategy. Additionally, the Vulnerability Management Manager will have a role in shaping the organisation's security policies and procedures, ensuring they are robust, up-to-date, and effective in mitigating emerging threats.

What will you do?

  • Vulnerability Assessment: Lead regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify security weaknesses in systems, applications, and network infrastructures.
  • Risk Analysis: Analyse identified vulnerabilities to determine their impact and risk to the organisation. Prioritise vulnerabilities based on criticality and potential impact.
  • Remediation Coordination: Collaborate with IT, application development, and other relevant teams to develop and implement remediation plans. Ensure timely and effective resolution of vulnerabilities.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Produce detailed and comprehensive reports on vulnerability assessment findings, risk analysis, and remediation status. Maintain up-to-date documentation of vulnerability management processes and procedures.
  • Threat Intelligence: Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices. Apply this knowledge to improve the organisation's vulnerability management program.
  • Compliance: Ensure that vulnerability management activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. Support audits and assessments related to vulnerability management.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve vulnerability management tools, processes, and methodologies to enhance the program's effectiveness.
  • Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions and awareness programs to educate employees and stakeholders about vulnerability management and security best practices.

Who are we looking for? 

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in vulnerability management, with a focus on the financial services sector.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP) are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and techniques, such as Nessus, Qualys, Tenable and Rapid 7. Familiarity with network security, application security, and system hardening practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective remediation strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and project management skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality documentation and reports.

Desirable: 

  • German Language Proficiency Level – Fluent.
  • Previous experience in working in financial services organisation.
  • Risk Assessment - Identify, evaluate, and prioritize security risks.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and standards in the financial sector.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
