A team of Berenberg employees ran for a good cause, in memory of Lilly Rose.

Berenberg Runs for Charity: A Tribute to Lily-Rose
Four of the Senior Management team from our London office successfully completed a challenging 26km run, conquering over 1,000 meters of elevation in the picturesque but demanding terrain of the Lake District. The team, known as the "Berenberg Foursome," included David Mortlock, a Partner here, and Laura Janssens - Head of Investment Banking, embarked on this formidable challenge in memory of one of our investment banking graduates who sadly passed away from cancer shortly after joining the bank. Her name was Lily-Rose.

Commitment to Training and Preparation
The primary goal of the run was to raise funds for Sarcoma UK, a charity that supported Lily-Rose through her illness, and continue to support her family. In the weeks leading up to the event, the team shared their journey and motivation with supporters. "Just over two years ago, we lost one of our graduates, Lily-Rose, to cancer. She was a remarkable young woman who completed her physics degree and started her career in finance despite battling a horrible illness. We still think about her a lot," they wrote. Demonstrating their commitment to this cause, the team trained rigorously, preparing both physically and mentally for the demanding course.

The Day of the Event
On the day of the run, the team faced the challenging terrain with determination. "We did it! 26km over 1,000m of elevation in the Lake District. A few bruises and blisters, but the Berenberg Foursome all made the finish line," they triumphantly announced. Their efforts were rewarded not only by completing the run but also by raising over £80,000 for the Lily-Rose Bury fund for Sarcoma UK, a charity chosen by her family.

Honouring Lily-Rose’s Legacy
The team's dedication to training and their determination to honour Lily-Rose’s memory were evident throughout their journey. Supporters were invited to read more about the inspirational Lily and Sarcoma UK through a dedicated link, emphasizing the impact of Lily's life and the importance of the cause.

Community Support and Gratitude
The team expressed heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support and donations that poured in. This run was not just about the physical challenge; it was a heartfelt tribute to Lily-Rose and a powerful statement of solidarity and support for those affected by sarcoma.
