In my 5 years at Berenberg, I have been able to learn a lot, both professionally and personally, as part of my projects and day-to-day business. Thanks to my position in Local Service, I am in close contact with every business unit and am involved in many exciting projects that constantly expand my know-how.
What impressed me the most when I started is the trust and responsibility that I was given directly. Even as an apprentice, I was entrusted with my first projects and given the freedom I needed to complete them and develop personally. My daily motivation is the good cooperation with the overarching teams and colleagues, who always have an open ear and help when help is needed.

I didn’t have any previous office experience before joining Berenberg, so I was worried that it would be a very monotonous experience. However, the energy you feel in the teams is really encouraging and the atmosphere is great. It’s clear that Berenberg cares for apprentices and makes sure we’re always learning, which is important as it allows us a wide range of possible career paths. You can’t take that for granted with a lot of other companies.

The opportunity to rotate through the various IT departments at Berenberg suits me very well. I’d like to work at the bank after my apprenticeship, but I’m not sure where in the IT yet. Thanks to my programme, I can get to know the various departments better, as well as the business as a whole. The employees here are all really welcoming and friendly, so you’ll fit in quickly. They’re amazingly helpful too, so don’t be afraid to ask questions.
