On 1 October 2024, we welcomed 15 new graduates to our graduate programme in the London office. Our graduates are currently undergoing an intensive induction programme in preparation for their career at Berenberg. Last week we celebrated the WAM summer party in Hamburg. The location was great, the refreshing drinks and the good music created a pleasant atmosphere. We spent a few pleasant hours together and enjoyed a party full of joy and togetherness.

Last week, we attended the Women in Leadership Event in London, where two of our employees shone with impressive panels and keynotes. The event was a great success and provided an excellent platform to have meaningful conversations about women in leaderships.

We recently visited a school in Hamburg with the Hacker School to teach 8th graders about programming. Our IT experts showed them the exciting world of coding and helped them to develop their own programmes. It was a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and give something back to society.

Last week, current summer interns, graduates, former graduates and future graduates met in London for a special networking event after work. The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to socialise in a relaxed atmosphere, make valuable contacts and benefit from each other's experiences. It was an inspiring and successful event.

This year, our second ‘Bring Your Kids to Work Day’ took place in the London office, where we welcomed 25 young people. The participants had the opportunity to get to know Berenberg, listen to inspiring presentations and round off the day with an exciting quiz. The event was a complete success and offered a perfect mix of learning and fun.

Last week, the 1st BerenbergKids Charity Quiz Night turned into a great after-work event where 50 Berenberg employees not only tested their knowledge but also got active together for a good cause. A big thank you to all Berenberg employees who made this successful evening a real success.

During the orientation week for our new apprentices, the apprentices from different years enjoyed a sailing trip on the Alster together with their trainers - under perfect weather conditions. These unforgettable moments and the shared fun on the water strengthened team spirit and laid the foundations for successful collaboration.

Berenberg took part enthusiastically in the Volunteer Gardening Day at Heaven House. It was a wonderful experience to do something good and support such a beautiful place at the same time. The gardens are simply magical and radiate a peaceful atmosphere. The collaboration with the great staff on site was also particularly impressive.

A busy work schedule often means to be glued to our screens so we’re taking our London office Running Club as an opportunity to be active outside of the office.
A fun run on a Friday afternoon with the team is a good way to start the weekend. At least that’s what the Bego runners say.

Last week, around 140 colleagues from our Frankfurt office and many of our branches took part in the WAM summer party. Together we enjoyed a wonderful evening on our roof terrace with an impressive view of the Frankfurt skyline. We spent some unforgettable hours with a delicious buffet, refreshing drinks and great music. It was a fantastic party and we are already looking forward to the next event!

On Wednesday 3^rd July, 80 black and orange t-shirts set off around Battersea Park to represent Berenberg in the J.P. Morgan Run 2024. Congratulations to Sebastian Bray who was our fastest runner.
A well-deserved cold drink was enjoyed at Pear Tree afterwards, to celebrate the 5.6km run.

At the beginning of July we welcomed our 21 summer interns as well as our first industrial placement student in the London office. In their first week with us they worked through an intensive classroom-based induction that focused on both technical and interpersonal skills to prepare them for their internship. After the induction time, they then joined their teams.

We participated in the ITCS conference in Hamburg – an exciting combination of IT job fair, tech conference, and festival. Our colleagues represented Berenberg and made fantastic connections. Our colleague Stefan delivered an inspiring keynote on the future of AI and moderated an engaging tech talk on DevOps Engineers. The day was a great success and we enjoyed participating!

Our Berenberg Capital Markets team proudly represented us at the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge 2024, the world's largest corporate running event. Running 3.5 miles in stunning Central Park, our BCM team boasted a remarkable 25% participation rate across the US business. Congratulations to our team for their spirited performance!

On May 14th, we welcomed 50 students to our career event. Areas such as Wealth Management, Corporate Banking & Bank Management were introduced. The get-together on the 10th floor provided an opportunity for networking over drinks and finger food with colleagues, graduates, interns, and working students discussing various career opportunities.

Our Global Technology apprentices organized this years 'Girls' Day @ Global Tech' in our Hamburg office. The day was a success, offering both external and internal participants glimpses into banking and IT. With a diverse program, hands-on exercises, and our Berenberg Quiz, it was an inspiring day for everyone involved. We look forward to the next Future Day at Berenberg!

Last week, our operational first aid and fire safety training took place in Hamburg. These practical sessions covered various essential topics, from stabilising techniques to CPR and proper defibrillator use. All colleagues, that were participating are now well-prepared to respond effectively in case of emergencies.

Last week, the BerenbergKids committee organised an internal event to celebrate Pancake Day. Aiming at bringing colleagues together for a morning feast, the breakfast featured a delightful spread of generously donated pastries, alongside an assortment of pancakes, fruit, crispy bacon and various spreads. The event drew in a big crowd and generated a donation for the BerenbergKids Foundation thanks to the fantastic support.

Congratulations to our apprentices Pawel and Aurel, who successfully completed their apprenticeship this month. Pawel will be joining the Cloud Adoption Team, while the Windows Infrastructure Team’s newest member will be Aurel.

We had the opportunity to introduce 21 students to modern working methods in software development. Our workshop started off with an interactive part on iterative work followed by a presentation. We look forward to more events in the future!

BergenbergKids foundation hand over a check for €25,000 to the animal-assisted children's hospice Gut Feismann in Nordrhein-Westfalen. The donation will enable families to remain with their child during their stay.
