Role overview

Berenberg is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to strengthen its UK Asset Management sales team, based in London.

The role will focus on direct sales / relationship management with prospective UK institutional investors, including public and private pension funds, large endowments and foundations and insurance companies. The role will also involve assisting in developing relationships with investment consultants.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Establish and develop strong relationships with prospective institutional investors
  • Contribute to the growth of the sales pipeline and to convert these opportunities over time
  • Contribute to Berenberg’s marketing and events efforts, including introducing new initiatives and taking ownership of certain campaigns and projects
  • Develop relationships internally across Berenberg, particularly with other Sales teams, Investment teams and Operations
  • Develop relations with consultant relations to attain research and ratings for Berenberg products
  • Remain informed of regulatory developments and ensure compliance with the required industry, and company standards, at all times
 

Your Profile: 

  • Experienced professional (at least 7-10 years +), with deep expertise in finance/asset management and significant tenure working in roles with an institutional sales focus.
  • A good existing network of contacts across the institutional client segments and investment consultants.
  • A good level of investment knowledge – particularly areas in which Berenberg has capabilities would be  desirable.
  • Sales-focused
  • Proactive and enjoys taking ownership of relationships and tasks
  • A good team player with a strong work ethic with high levels of professionalism
  • Professional qualifications – Investment Management Certificate (IMC) or equivalent required
